Miners lamp wax box

Description
Cardboard box, originally for Miner's Lamp Wax. Printed on both sides "Miner's Lamp Wax, Scottish Oils and Shell Mex Ltd Manufactured in Scotland", c 1935.
This once held wrapped blocks of lamp wax, used underground in open flamed lamps. A Scottish Oils promotional film c 1930 shows workers at Pumpherston packing such boxes. The box was subsequently used for storing official archives at Grangemouth
