Miner's carbide cap lamp, brass, with original box and leaflet, by Justrite, USA, type 611 with protecto-grip red rubber bumper around base to improve grip and protect from damage, round hook. Probable manufacturing date between circa 1926 to circa 1935?

C1900 to c 1910: Ayrshire, coal miner; C1912 to c 1920: Pumpherston, shale miner; C1920 to c1928: Ladysmith, shale miner; C1928 to c 1930: Lochore, Fife, coal miner & Uddingston, South Lanarkshire, coal miner; C1930 to 1938: Kinneil Colliery, Bo'ness, coal miner; 1938: obtained mining qualification; 1938 to c 940: Glendevon shale mine, under manager; C1940 to 1958: Breich shale mine, Seafield, under manager until retirement aged 72. Permitted to remain in the Seafield house until his death in 1975
