Map showing the oil fields of Britain with the Scottish oil shale area in the foreground (NB south is to the top of the page, north is to the bottom). Includes photographs of retorts, a refinery and shale breaker house belonging to the Broxburn Oil Company Ltd and a sketch of a section of mine driven in oil shale at Pumpherston owned by the Pumpherston Oil Company Ltd. Also contains a short paragraph concerning British sources of oil that could be used by the Royal Navy during wartime
