Advertisement pictures a living room scene with a woman sitting at a table knitting and a man with a girl holding a doll. Signed J R Cowper 1911. "Oakbank Oil Sold Here" has been painted over in green on the top and bottom but is still visible. Advertisement has been varnished and the initials R W are etched at the bottom. The advertisement was acquired by the donor from her great uncle Robert Watson, a chemist and local councillor from Addiewell and Vice President of the West Calder Co-operative Society.
