Trades' Union membership card, winding class for the West Calder Branch of the Scottish Colliery Engine and Boilermen's Association for Alexander Benson (born 31st March 1887), dated 5th March 1920.
The Lodge Room is recorded as Thomsons Rooms and the card is signed by James Crichton, President and A Hamilton, Secretary. Dark pink card, stamped on reverse 'Scottish Colliery Engine and Boilermen's Association, West Calder Branch'. Alexander Benson was an electrician at Young's Paraffin Light & Mineral Oil Company Ltd's Baads No. 42 Coal Mine, resided at 7 Parkhead Cottages, West Calder and was the grandfather of the donor.
