7 Parkhead Cottages was the home of Alexander Benson (born 31st March 1887) and Mary Benson (nee Haldane, born c. 1887). The children are thought to be the couple's three children, Alexander Gill Benson (born 21/06/1910), Mary Benson (born 12/11/1912, later Mary Wishart) and William Benson (born c. 1909). Alexander Benson was an electrician at Young's Paraffin Light & Mineral Oil Company Ltd's Baads No. 42 Coal Mine, resided at 7 Parkhead Cottages, West Calder and was the grandfather of the donor. Mary Benson (born 12/11/1912 was the mother of the donor)
